BEEF VARATTIYATHU (BEEF FRY)

INGREDIENTS

  1. BEEF                                          - 1/2  KG
  2. COCONUT PIECES                       -   100 G
  3. CHILLY POWDER                         - 1 Spoon
  4. TURMERIC POWDER                    - 1/2 Spoon
  5. CORIANDER POWDER                  -  1/2 Spoon
  6. GARAM MASALA                          - 1  1/4 Spoon
  7. PEPPER POWDER                        - 1  Spoon
  8. FENNEL POWDER                        - 1/2 Spoon
  9. GINGER PASTE                            - 1  Spoon
  10. GARLIC PASTE                            - 1 Spoon
  11. GREEN CHILLY                            -   2 PIECES (chopped)
  12. COCONUT OIL                            -  3 SPOON
  13. BIG ONION                                 - ONE (chopped )
  14. SMALL ONION                             - 3 Table spoon(chopped)
  15. SALT                          
  16. CURRY LEAFS  

PREPARATION METHOD 
  • Clean well the cubed beef with water and salt  , drain and keep it aside
  • Heat the coconut oil and add red chilly, coconut pieces
  • When the coconut pieces  color changes add small onion, big onion  and a small amount of salt saute well until the onion become golden brown color
  • Add green chilly, ginger garlic paste,curry leafs just 2 min 
  • Add all the powders( garam masala, chilly powder , coriander powder,turmeric powder,fennel powder )saute in low flame
  • Add the cleaned beef ,  pepper powder  , half glass of water , salt  mix well 
  • First 10 min cook it in high flame  
  • Then saute cook  well till brown colour  (43 -60 min( low flame ))  
  • Pls .check the salt and spice and adjust according to u r taste 
  • Add curry leafs and 1/2 spoon of coconut oil   (and also add fried onions it is optional )
  • So the delicious beef varattiyathu is ready
