CHICKEN VARUTHU ARACHATHU IS ONE OF THE MOST TASTY , SPICY DISH  IN KERALA . TODAY I'M  GOING TO INTRODUCE  YOU TO  HOW TO MAKE TASTY CHICKEN VARUTHU ARACHATHU  IN A  SIMPLE MANNER  :)


                                   


INGREDIENTS

  1. CHICKEN                                           -  500 g
  2. ONION                                                 -  2 medium size
  3. GREEN CHILLY  paste                     -  1 Table spoon
  4. GINGER PASTE                                 -  2 Table spoon
  5. GARLIC PASTE                                 -  1 1/2 Table spoon 
  6. CHILLY POWDER                            -  1 1/2  "
  7. CORIANDER POWDER                   -   2        "
  8. TURMERIC POWDER                      -  1         "
  9. GARAM MASALA                              -  2         "
  10. COCONUT                                           -  5- 6     ''
  11. COCONUT OIL                                   -  4         "
  12. MUSTARD                                           - 1 TABLE SPOON 
  13. RED CHILLY                                       - 3- 4 No's
  14. PEPPER POWDER
  15. CURRY LEAFS       
  16. WATER
  17. TOMATO                                            - 1 medium size
  18. SALT                                                    - 


PREPARATION  METHOD 

               
  • The first step clean the  cubed chicken 
  • Heat the kadai pan add 1 - 1 1/2 glass of water , pepper powder , salt , turmeric powder and chicken cook well (it takes 30- 45 min )
  • The next step is to make "THENGA ARAPPU" .for that heat a pan, add 1 table spoon of coconut oil  and the scrambled coconut  to it mix well continuously 
  • When it become brown colour grind  well , after first grinding add 1 table spoon of garam masala and 2 table spoon of water and again grind 
  • Heat the oil add mustard   
  • Then add red chilly mix well
  • Add the sliced onion to it  saute well
  • When the onion become golden brown add garlic paste , chilly , ginger paste and curry leafs to it  saute well just 5 min in low flame 
  • Add all the powder spices ( red chilly , garam masala , coriander powder, turmeric powder ) mix well just a min 
  • Add the grinded paste to it saute just a min in low flame  
  • Add tomatoes, salt  to it  mix well cook just 5 min
  •  Add the boiled chicken  cook 10-15 min 
  • Add water if needed 
  • Taste it and add salt , chilly powder , garam masala if needed
