KERALA STYLE CHICKEN CURRY - WITH COCONUT ( NADAN KOZHI CURRY )

Kerala style chicken curry is very tasty  and well flavored with spices . It goes well with  Chapathi, Pathiri , Ghee rice , Normal rice , etc...... or any other Indian breads ....

INGREDIENTS 

Chicken ---------------------------------------------   1 Kg

Pepper powder--------------------------------------    2 tea spoon


Red chilly powder-----------------------------------    2 tea spoon


coriander powder ----------------------------------     2 "


Turmeric powder  ----------------------------------    1 tea spoon


Garam masala powder ----------------------------     1 1/2 tea spoon


Ginger garlic paste  --------------------------------    2 tea spoon


Coconut milk      -----------------------------------     1 cup


Coconut oil -----------------------------------------     2 table spoon


Tomato (sliced) ------------------------------------    2 medium sized 


Curry leafs -----------------------------------------     5 numbers 


Onion -----------------------------------------------     3 numbers 


Salt -------------------------------------------------    according to taste     


STEPS
  •  Marinate the chicken with pepper powder , salt , 1/2 spoon of  turmeric powder . keep it aside 
  • Take a kadai heat the coconut oil  and add the sliced onion to it ,curry leafs and salt   
  • when it becomes golden colour add ginger garlic paste to it  and saute well
  • Add red chilly powder , turmeric powder , coriander powder , and garam masala saute well 
  • Add sliced tomatoes to it (saute well just 5 min )
  • Add half cup of  water to it  cook just 5 min
  • Add the marinated chicken to it saute well
  • Cook and cover the chicken (approximately take 15 min )        
  •  Then add the thick coconut milk to it cook well just 10 min 
  • Check the taste and add  salt , red chilly powder , etc .. if needed 
Serve with chapathi,  malabar pathiri , normal rice with veg salad .... :)
